Can Context Trump Character?

For children and youth exposed to inescapably dangerous and stressful conditions, what does normal behavior look like? And if we aren't sure, should we be drawing conclusions about what abnormal behavior looks like? During this presentation, we'll discuss on the impact of varying social contexts on human behavior, and on how programs and practices that successfully change social environments are having positive effects on the lives of children and youth in general, and children and youth exposed to adverse conditions in particular. We'll also discuss how these programs and practices, when incorporated in the work setting, can also reduce physical and mental health problems among workers, as well as increase worker productivity and overall quality of life.
